R&R Ice Cream has concluded sales negotiations with frozen yoghurt firm yoomoo, which will include an investment of £2 million in developing its brands this year.
Northallerton-based R&R stated that yoomoo has already established itself as the leading frozen yoghurt brand in Britain, despite only being established in 2011.
Its founders, husband and wife team Amanda and Daniel Gestetner, will continue to operate a chain of yoghurt bars, including at Harrods and Westfields in London.
Amanda Gestetner commented that 2013 will be an "exciting journey" as the firm expands further.
She added: "The ability to enhance the positioning of yoomoo at home through R&R's marketing and distribution channels will ensure an excellent future within the sector."
Last month, R&R announced the acquisition of German ice cream and sandwich firm Durigon Gelato GmbH, subject to the approval of German Federal Cartel Office.
The takeover was agreed on the basis that Durigon would continue to operate from its factory at Schwanewede-Brundorf near Bremen, where it employs 70 people.
